I am the Academic Specialist for the Department of Romance and Classical Studies at Michigan State University. I advise all students majoring or minoring in Spanish, French, Italian and Spanish. I advise students regarding academic coursework, professional development and study aboard opportunities. I also teach a freshman seminar course. I currently serve on the Academic Specialist advisory committee and direct 3 study abroad programs including Internships in Argentina and Spanish for the Healthcare Professions. I spent 13 years living and working in Quito, Ecuador. My experiences there in international education include teaching English at USFQ and working for the Fulbright program as an OSEAS adviser. I was previously the Director of International Programs at Marygrove College where I served on the committee for campus internationalization. As a Study Abroad Coordinator at Michigan State I chaired the campus-wide Diversity Abroad Team. I have led groups of students to Spain, Brazil, France, Mexico and the UK. I have presented at national and international conferences including NACADA, GIC, and CIEE and numerous campus-wide events regarding study abroad. I received a Master's degree from Georgetown in Spanish.
