RCS is also very proud to have an exceedingly active group of graduate students. This year they have helped put on many events. Below is a summary of those events!
Graduate Student Pitch-A-Palooza
On March 31, 2018, graduate students of English, French, and Spanish spent a full day with faculty and classmates to present their current projects and receive feedback from the audience. What made this event unique was its format in which each student would summarize his/her project in no more than 10 minutes. This is one of several activities (applying to PhD programs, job market workshop) organized by the GSA-Tropos throughout last academic year.
Tropos issue 41 published!
Under the leadership of co-editors José Adrián Badillo and Osvaldo Sandoval, PhD candidates in Hispanic Cultural Studies, the graduate student journal Tropos published issue 41 in May 2018. Six contributions in this issue examine the topic Migrations and Borders in Films, Literature, and Media in Romance Languages and features an introduction to the topic by Spanish professor Miguel Cabañas.
