Ewurama Twumasiwa Appiagyei-Dankah, Social Relations and Policy Major and Spanish Minor
Academically, my biggest highlights were the study abroad I did in Valencia, Spain during the summer after my sophomore year and taking the course Law and Social Groups, which was very transformative for my academic interests. Experientially, serving as a vice president for the undergraduate student body during my senior year was a huge honor, and I loved singing throughout college with my a cappella group, Ladies First!
For the summer, I am interning at the Violence Against Women Project at the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, primarily doing research on how policy reform can help make survivors of domestic violence safer and helping with trainings for prosecutors across the state. I will be moving to Washington D.C. in the fall; I was awarded the Star Fellowship through a nonprofit organization called Running Start. Through the fellowship, I will be placed in an internship on Capitol Hill with a Congresswoman and receive mentorship from women in politics. I also plan to attend law school in the near future!
